Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) play a crucial role in the Global Transition towards Sustainability. A recent publication by BRIGHTS, “Sustainability Offices and Global Sustainability Strategies. Making Universities part of the Global Transition to Sustainability”, is a handbook which describes how HEIs can contribute to this transition by developing sustainability strategies which are complementary to policy agendas, such as the Agenda 2030 with its SDGs or the European Green Deal.

The Erasmus+ BRIGHTS project (2021–2024) developed innovative educational and training pathways to enable universities to contribute to the global transition towards sustainability. The film, 'Can I make a difference?, shows how students can create a meaningful impact through university cooperation, presenting the Cologne International Forum cluster project, 'Conflict-Induced Displacement and Socio-Economic Resilience: Learning from Neglected Conflicts in Cameroon and Myanmar'.
