The paper showcases the UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Coalition (https://bridges.earth) and the Oceans Past Initiative (https://lnkd.in/dswrEyYy) as two humanities-led initiatives that are leading by way of example as impactful academic programmes making a difference far beyond the ivory tower.
Abstract: We present two examples of how the environmental humanities have built bridges with governments and made effective policy interventions. Lessons can be drawn about how public humanities can help develop social and cultural understanding and societal resilience.
