The Jubilee of Knowledge event held recently at the Vatican, brought together students, educators, and institutions from around the world, with the focus of "Braiding Scientific and Indigenous Knowledge in the Cherishing of Our Common Home."
It’s a delight to share this translation of José Manuel‘s beautiful account of his time at the Vatican, where he recently attended the Jubilee of Knowledge.
“At the Jubilee of Knowledge, we celebrate the meeting of scientific understanding and ancestral wisdom, united in a single purpose: to honour and care for our common home.
This dialogue between knowledges is an act of gratitude toward the Earth and a gesture of hope for the generations to come.
In this spirit, Munekan Masha blossoms — a sacred word of the Kogui people meaning to regenerate spiritual life.
Munekan Masha is a call to restore balance between human beings and nature, to awaken consciousness, and to heal the soul of Mother Earth.
From the sacred mountain to the hearts that hear her voice, Indigenous and scientific knowledge intertwine like two rivers flowing toward the same sea — the sea of regenerated life.
Each reflection is a seed, each action an offering.
Thus, the Jubilee of Knowledge becomes a spiritual path toward reconciliation with the Earth, reminding us that to regenerate the planet, we must first regenerate the human spirit.”
