Cultural Heritage and Climate Change Event: Reflections from Projects and Future Steps

Professor Louise Steel will be representing Coastal TALES and UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES at the forthcoming Cultural Heritage and Climate Change Event: Reflections from Projects and Future Steps, at the British Council Offices in Stratford, East London, 25-26th February.

Hosted by the AHRC, British Council (Cultural Protection Fund), UNESCO UK(Climate Change and UNESCO Heritage Pilot Project) and the UK Government’s Department for Culture, Media and Sport this event aims to bring together researchers and policy makers in an interprofessional consultation event.

Participants will be reflecting upon different research programmes and funded projects to draw upon  participants’ insights on project experiences, outputs and impacts. The aim of the two-day workshop is to embed cultural heritage at the heart of climate discussions – an approach that chimes with UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES.

The unique work of Coastal TALES has been recognised by the AHRC for its innovative transdisciplinary approach. As part of the event the Coastal TALES showreel developed for COP 29 UK Pavilion will be showcased in a provocation discussion activity.
