UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Flagship Series of Humanities Labs

The UNESCO-MOST BRIDGES Series of Humanities Labs is a partnership with ASU’s award-winning Humanities Lab and serves as the "signature project” of the BRIDGES Flagship Hub.

These unique, humanities-led pedagogical offerings fulfil the mission of both organizations to model how the humanities are critical to solving the world’s most challenging sustainability and social justice problems.

Each Lab focuses closely on two or three United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), bringing students together with famous writers, leading sustainability researchers, global governance officials, librarians, and community leaders.

Through interdisciplinary collaboration, research, storytelling, and community-facing projects, participants are encouraged to think beyond conventional narratives and reimagine more just and inclusive futures.

Covering themes such as ocean storytelling, planetary citizenship, energy justice, and gendered approaches to peace and security, the Labs emphasise:

• Science, technology, and innovation.
• Diverse perspectives and collaborative inquiry.
• Actionable change.

By foregrounding the significant contributions of the humanities, this series empowers students to participate in United Nations-level decision-making while equipping them with the tools to critically analyse and transform the systems shaping our world.
