Choose Our Future - An arts competition to shape our shared future
Imagine 2050!
Filmmakers, creatives, and visionaries worldwide are invited to tackle the most critical challenge of our time: defining the future. Envision and bring to life four archetypal scenarios for 2050, showing the world how the decisions we make today will shape tomorrow.
The project is a global creative challenge that bridges the gap between scientific climate research and public imagination; a specific call to action for filmmakers and visionaries to visualise the year 2050.
Creatives are being asked to visualise four distinct archetypal scenarios / narrative frameworks for the mid-century: Transformation, Discipline, Continued Growth, and Collapse.
“Imagine 2050" challenges creators to explore a broad spectrum of human experience. The initiative aims to show that the future isn't a fixed destination, but is being created by the choices we make today.
How to Participate
The initiative is open to creatives of all disciplines. By providing a platform for diverse visions, Choose Our Future hopes to create a "cultural compass" that helps the public and policymakers alike grasp the long-term consequences of modern-day choices. Coalition Members World Academy of Art and Science and The Club of Rome are partnering with like-minded organisations in the Choose Our Future competition to inspire conversation, provoke thought and influence how we collectively move forward towards a better future for all.
