BRIDGES is the humanities-led sustainability science coalition of UNESCO’s Management of Social Transformations programme. Championing community-anchored and humanities-inclusive sustainability science, BRIDGES works to foster a fully transdisciplinary approach to sustainable development research.
Aligning with the core principles and aims of BRIDGES, the Earth-Humanity Coalition (EHC) was formed in April 2024, in support of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD).
The EHC a global bottom-up network connecting and mobilising a wide variety of organisations worldwide, working to address the most urgent challenges of sustainable development, by fostering transdisciplinarity in practice, in support of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development (IDSSD).
In June 2024, the EHC was publicly launched at SRI 2024, the 2024 Sustainability Research and Innovation Congress, in Helsinki, Finland. The EHC General Assembly took place later in the year, on 10 September.
BRIDGES is proud to be a founding steering group member of the EHC, committed to fostering transformative action at multiple scales and leveraging existing efforts, with dynamism, agility, and effectiveness.
