Session details:

Panel 03: Turning Points for Ocean, Glaciers & Poles: Science & System Dynamics

Date and Location: 16 March 16:30- 17:45. Hergé Room.

“This session explores the latest advances in ocean, glacier and poles science — and where critical uncertainties remain. What breakthroughs in science and system dynamics are emerging, and what more must the Villars Ocean Community do to reach a turning point that delivers decisive gains for ocean, glaciers, and poles?”

While they may seem like remote frontiers, the world’s oceans, poles, and glaciers are actually the primary engines of our global climate system. These "blue and white" heartlands manage the Earth’s energy budget and drive the atmospheric currents that distribute heat, maintaining the delicate environmental balance that allows our societies to thrive.
