Event Details

Prof. Louise Steel will be presenting preliminary results of the Coastal TALES research project at a day of in-person and online discussions and presentations hosted by WAHA at the National Library of Wales, the Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies and Aberystwyth University.

Coastal TALES, funded by the AHRC as part of the Belmont Forum’s joint call for Climate and Cultural Heritage is researching how traditional stories can help deliver innovative local solutions to the changing climate in coastal regions? Collaborating with societal partners to understand how heritage stories can drive action in education, policy and nature-based innovation, Coastal TALES is examining climate adaptation in three coastal areas: Kodiak Island, Alaska, Dublin Bay in Ireland and southwest Wales. Professor Steel’s talk will focus on the preliminary results of fieldwork in Wales working with Câr y Môr, Teifi Coracles and Cardigan Bay Fish.
