UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences Gabriela Ramos, BRIDGES ASU Flagship Hub Director Joni Adamson, ASU Vice President and Vice Provost of Global Futures Peter Schlosser and Founding Executive Director of UNESCO-MOST BRIDGE, Steven Hartman, attended the #GF23 Global Futures Conference during UN Climate Week in New YorkSept. 19-21 2023.

The accompanying photos were taken just before ADG Ramos' intervention on responsible employment of generative Artificial Intelligence in the service of a just, equitable and inclusive climate transition, following up on the first-ever global standard on AI Ethics, a framework adopted by all 193 UNESCO Member States in November 2021.

We are delighted to be bringing the much needed perspectives of humanities-led sustainability science and education to the Global Futures Conference through key involvement of the #BRIDGES Coalition in UNESCO's Management of Social Transformations (MOST) programme, as launched by the three founding partners--UNESCO, the International Council for Philosophy and Human Sciences (#CIPSH) and Humanities for the Environment.

Dr Hartman noted that it was excellent to have Gabriela Ramos' emphatic support for our global programme linking a coalition of well over 40 high-impact organizations and institutions, now anchored at Global Knowledge and Impact Hubs at the ASU Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory, University of Wales Trinity Saint David, University of Pretoria , The Club of Rome, University of Cologne.
