BRIDGES is a prioritised programme within UNESCO’s Management of Social Transformations section, championing community-anchored and humanities-driven sustainability science, fostering a fully transdisciplinary approach to sustainable development research. Aligning with the core principles and aims of BRIDGES, the Earth-Humanity Coalition (EHC) was formed in April 2024 to address the urgent challenges of sustainable development fostering transdisciplinarity, of which BRIDGES is proud to be a member.
“In close collaboration with UNESCO, EHC aims for the development of co-designed /transdisciplinary research for sustainable development: the mobilization of all kind of knowledge related activities, basic science research, humanities, social sciences, traditional and indigenous knowledge, together with citizens, their organizations and representatives, to develop an equitable human well-being and planetary health.”
The EHC aims to “re-invent the way in which science and knowledge interact with society and policy, and co-create transdisciplinary approaches to the challenges that lie ahead.”
